European Courts Set Privacy Standards

Unlike Europe, the United States lacks a strong and broad privacy law. The differences between the U.S. and European data privacy protections were highlighted in October, when the European Union's highest court ruled invalid an international pact governing the movement of data between the EU and the United States.
