Executive Summary

Black women, as well as Latinas and other minority women, must overcome what analysts dub a double bind—the bias they face as women and as minorities. The number of women of color in CEO jobs at large companies remains painfully small, as a result: Ursula Burns at Xerox and Indra Nooyi at PepsiCo, plus a handful of others, including three women who run black media companies BET and Johnson Publishing.
